Beadwork comes originally from the Ute Tribe and the Plains Native Americans. Navajos working mostly with the colours white, blue, ornage or yellow, black and beige. The colour blue is represented by turquoise and the colour red by coral.
The colors also represent the 4 cardinal directions:
White – East
Blue – South
Yellow – West
Black – North
But in the meantime the Navajos also work with other colors and so you can find the most beautiful works of art in necklaces, bracelets, hair clips or earrings. The variety have no limit!
